A Brief Introduction |
||
|
||
Om Shri Parmatmane Namah || A
liberated, enlightened, and devotee saint of this age, Revered Swami Ramsukhdasji
Maharaj was born in a small village "Madpura" in the Nagore district of Rajasthan in 1904 A.D. (Vikram Samvat 1960) in the Vedic calendar month of Falgun. At the young age of just 4
years, his mother made him an ascetic (Sadhu). Fulfilling the completely renunciate duties
of an ascetic, he stayed on this earth for an age of approximately 102 years
and throughout his life, he went from village-to-village and city-to-city and
kept pouring the nectar of satsang. Perhaps
no other saint has travelled across India to the extent to which he travelled
during his lifetime. The
prime objective of his life was to stay away from personal propaganda and
spread the divine messages of Gita
only for the welfare of the people. Hence he
entirely stayed away from tasks such as being photographed, getting his feet
touched, making disciples, accepting gifts or donations, accumulating money
or things etc., building ashrams
(monasteries), making cults etc., and in this way neither did he establish
any personal relationship with any person, organization, cult, monastery
etc., nor did he appoint anyone as his disciple, propagator, or successor.
Sustaining his life merely through alms, he remained engaged in selflessly
benefiting society through his mind, body, and speech throughout his life. His sole aim was to find out how mankind can be benefited
(liberated) in the least possible time and through the easiest possible
method, and throughout his life he kept searching for this one
answer. In this context he discovered many revolutionary, novel,
and remarkable methods and spread them across the masses through his
discourses and articles. Without insisting upon any opinion, argument, cult
etc., he propagated only that which was his own experience. He explained the
deep, complicated and the most eminent subjects of the spiritual path to the
common man in an extremely simple manner, so that an average literate man too
can easily understand them and can apply them in his life. The very idol of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Revered Swamiji Maharaj
also authored an unprecedented commentary on Gita titled 'Sadhak-Sanjivani',
which is an outstanding gift from him to the world. Other than this, he also
authored several unparalleled texts such as ‘Gita Darpan,’ ‘Gita Prabodhani’, ‘Gita Gyan Praveshika’,
Sadhan-Sudha-Sindhu, etc. The lessons from the books leave an immutable,
irrevocable impression on the readers, as these are not dependent on just
scholarly writings, but are based on experience rather than
learning. The glorious personage of the world made His disappearance on
July 3rd, 2005, (Aashadh
Krishna 12, Vikram Samvat 2062), on the banks of Ganga, Gita
Bhavan, Swargashram (Rishikesh). Completely rid of attachment, idol
of renunciation, Revered Swamiji Maharaj had especially instructed
that no one may write his biography. Therefore, this short introduction has
been written only so that more and more people can become acquainted with
this great saint and thereby uplift themselves
and benefit from his discourses. With deep reverence. A Sadhak |
